Pan-European services giant ATOS SE has chosen NOA technology for a 10-year archiving project for Austrian national broadcaster ORF (Österreichischer Rundfunk). ORF’s archiving program is the third large-scale European archiving project in recent months to be powered by NOA solutions, following the choice of Slovenia and Slovakia’s national broadcasters.
NOA has supplied ATOS with a complete end-to-end digitisation facility for the 600.000 DigiBeta and IMX content library. The solution comprises FrameLectors, VTRi, jobDB, DBScripter, FolderScanner, FileCollector, MediaButler, CLIP, IRT´s MXF Analyser, and Joanneum's VidiCert Analyser Summary. ATOS will undertake the integration of the system with FESAD, the collaborative MAM platform used by broadcasters in Germany and Austria.Large-scale digitisation of content libraries from obsolescent media stocks is becoming increasingly topical as many of the world’s broadcasters act to safeguard their legacies. It requires excellent technology to manage these huge migrations effi ciently, and it is gratifying to be chosen both as a provider of the solution, and as a reliable partner in this and other long-term ventures.
said Christophe Kummer, NOA’s CEO.
The NOA solution offered key benefits for the ORF initiative, with low-level analysis of transfer QC (RF and ISR), MXF analysis fully integrated with the central workflow engine, and access via API to the jobDB database being among the most important.
NOA offered the best solution to Atos for this project with our customer ORF. The combined qualities of robustness, performance, exceptional quality control, and comprehensive integration potential add up to a platform that we can be confident with for the duration of a major cultural and commercial project.
