NOA at IBC 2016

Stand 8.D91

At IBC 2016 (Amsterdam, 8-13 September), NOA is introducing NOA VideoPlayer for jobDB, the company’s system that allows users to set up workflows for the ingest, reshaping, and analysis of media for archiving, re-transcoding, or other complex processes. NOA VideoPlayer is a comprehensive tool designed to respond to the specific needs of archiving professionals, providing them with the functionality, speed, and ease-of-use that can substantially improve accuracy, quality, and productivity.

Previously, we provided support for Windows Media Player within jobDB, but the new NOA VideoPlayer delivers much more as it was created specifically to enable significantly easier and more precise navigation and handling of ingested video files. Its tight integration within jobDB creates a more seamless workflow, while the provision of a range of viewing and examination options facilitates easy and quick navigation and handling of ingested video material throughout the entire QC process.

said Jean-Christophe Kummer, Managing Partner of NOA.

NOA VideoPlayer supports a range of display modes that allow the user to navigate with greater freedom and precision through ingested material. A range of video settings such as de-interlacing and field order adjustment ensure correct replay behaviour and later transcoding of material. Easy segmenting of ingested material, together with quick navigation via shortcuts, improves and refines quality control activities in jobDB.

With ItemHistory for mediARC NOA introduces a tool, which enables media archivists to more easily ensure and verify the accuracy of their database. Item History allows cataloguing teams and supervisors to ascertain not only who changed an archive item and when – but also, exactly what was changed. This allows users to easily and quickly review previous version of an item in the event that, for example, it was erroneously updated.

With Item History for mediARC, a previous version of an item in the archive is automatically saved whenever a change is made – and that provides unlimited traceability of any changes to archival entries. Previously, mediARC users could only see who changed an item and when they did it; Item History provides them with invaluable additional functionality to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the archive.

said Christophe Kummer, CEO of NOA.

Broadcasters and archivists need an archive asset management system that can ingest, describe, archive and deliver content: NOA’s mediARC fulfils that requirement. Based on NOA’s proven, easy-to-use, open technologies, mediARC is a flexible framework for media archive management that makes the whole process easier and more efficient.
